Hello!

I am a professor and researcher at the State University of Paraíba (UEPB), based in João Pessoa, Brazil, where I have been active since 2007. I am currently affiliated with the Center for Biological and Social Applied Sciences (CCBSA) and serve as a faculty member of the Graduate Program in Environmental Science and Technology (PPGCTA/UEPB).

My academic background combines mathematics and engineering: I hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (thermal science and fluids) from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), where I was awarded the Lenilde Duarte de Sá Thesis Award, as well as both M.Sc. and teaching degrees in Mathematics from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). This interdisciplinary formation naturally led me to work in the field of Computational Science and Engineering, where I integrate mathematical modeling, numerical methods, and data-driven approaches to address complex real-world problems.

Throughout my career, I have worked on a wide range of topics, including numerical analysis, finite element methods, transport phenomena, porous media, reservoir simulation, signal processing, and applied statistics. More recently, my research has focused on environmental and energy-related challenges, particularly carbon capture and storage (CCS).

I am actively involved in several research groups recognized by CNPq, including the Environmental Technologies Research Group (GPTecA), the Intelligence, Entrepreneurship and Information Management Group, the Public and Private Organizational Management Group, and the TRIL Lab – Computational Engineering. I also participate in the international cooperation project CO2SS, dedicated to the characterization of geological structures for carbon storage. In addition, I co-lead the Laboratory of Entrepreneurship, Management and Intelligence (LABEGI/UEPB).
